James has presented programmes on UK radio and TV for several decades and hosts shows on the national radio station talkRADIO and talkTV.  James was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2000 and his experience of tackling the condition spurred him on to become one of the founder members of the charity in 2006. He stepped down as Chairman and Trustee in January 2019. James was married to Melinda from 1970 until her untimely passing in early 2018, he has two sons, James and Peter. Jame remarried in October 2021 to Nadine Lamont and was made an MBE for services to broadcasting and charity in The King’s New Years Honour list in 2024.
