National Kidney Cancer Audit report pinpoints areas for improvement in England

The National Kidney Cancer Audit (NKCA) published its second annual State of the Nation report on Thursday 11th September.  The report, which is welcomed by Kidney Cancer UK, shows areas of treatment in which the quality of NHS services needs to be improved.  It is available in summary for patients and the public as well as the full report.

The figures are broken down to individual NHS Trusts making it possible to compare quality performance.  The information may be viewed by patients as well as health care professionals.  It is available on the NKCA dashboard, which is updated with new measurements every three months.

Andrew Greaves, General Manager of Kidney Cancer UK, described the data as ‘compelling.’  He went on to say: ‘Kidney Cancer UK is looking to health care professionals in all NHS Trusts to check their own performance data regularly via the dashboard, compare it with others and use it to improve services and outcomes for kidney cancer patients on a day-to-day basis.’
