#TeamKCUK Team Victorious in WOLF run
A #TeamKCUK group took part in Leicester’s WOLF Run to fundraise for Kidney Cancer UK.
The 2nd June saw our team of 12 supporters lace up their running shoes and take on the Leicestershire multi-terrain run known as WOLF; an acronym which stands for Woods, Obstacles, Lakes, and Fields, the various terrains encountered during the run. The group have raised over £1300.00, with the amount still rising.
Getting thoroughly mucky in the process, 12 runners took part in the fun and high-octane quarterly event which sees participants endure 10km of natural and man-made obstacles based around swimming, climbing, and running.
#TeamKCUK is an online Facebook community made up of fundraisers, all pulling together in order to raise awareness, help fund research, and support the charity.
Ange Cahill, a member of the #TeamKCUK from Northamptonshire said of the team’s achievement: “it was a fantastic experience where everyone pulled together to help one another, while raising money and helping support kidney cancer patients across the UK. A member of our team has only recently beaten kidney cancer, so we really wanted to give back to a charity that had supported her.”
Our National Events and Community Fundraiser, Sarah Pesonen, said: “we are so lucky to have supporters taking on challenges like this to raise money for Kidney Cancer UK. As a charity we receive no government funding and rely on the generosity of our donors and fundraisers to enable us to continue supporting people affected by kidney cancer. It’s fantastic that so many people came together to take on the Wolf Run and we are really grateful to Ange and the team”.
