Robotic surgery

Robotic surgery is a different form of laparoscopic surgery. Robotic probes and equipment are controlled by the surgeon via a computerised system. Once surgeons are experienced in this technique, it is said to provide shorter recovery times, less risk of infection and greater surgical precision. The number of hospitals with this equipment and experience using it is limited.

The surgery downloadable chart provides more details about the different surgical techniques.
