Radiofrequency ablation

Radiofrequency energy is transmitted via an electrode into the tumour. The heat produced destroys the tumour cells.

The technique is recommend by NICE but is only available at specialist hospitals and used on tumours that are less than four cm in size. Please view the downloadable chart for more details.
