Our work would not be possible without the amazing and unwavering support of our volunteers, donors and supporters. Here are just a few events which have enabled us to carry out our work.

One of our highlights was the Whale Auction in Scotland, which was inspired by the huge success of a similar event we had held in 2013 at Clarendon Fine Art Gallery in London. Kidney Cancer Scotland launched this campaign to support children diagnosed with kidney cancer, by asking a number of celebrities, TV and radio presenters, local and national artists and designers to customise an outline of a Whale, which was drawn and donated by DC Thomson, one of the leading media organisations in the UK. The donated Whales were auctioned by James Whale MBE in October 2014 and together raised more than £2000. We are extremely grateful to the gallery, celebrities, public figures and everyone who came along to support the auction.

All the whale designs including the ones donated by David Cameron, Quentin Blake, Boris Johnson, Mel C and John bishop can be found here.

9255316556_6ffe53f597_zWe were delighted to be one of two charities chosen to celebrate the premiere of Status Quo’s new film ‘BULA QUO!’, which was held in London, in July 2014. The evening was a huge success and showed Status Quo’s frontmen, Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt, move from gold discs to the silver screen as they took the lead roles in their very first feature film; an action-comedy caper directed by Stuart St. Paul, with its tongue firmly in its cheek and a great cast. Together with the charity Nordoff Robbins, we were very proud to be chosen as a recipient of the film’s premiere.

In June 2014, Tyler completed Hackney Half Marathon in in honour of his mum. In 2006, Tyler’s mother was diagnosed with kidney cancer and consequently lost one of her kidneys. She was in remission, but the cancer has since returned. Tyler raised over £1400 and is planning to run a full marathon in 2015! Watch this video to see his emotional journey.
