Kerry with medal
Kerry Setterfield ran the London Marathon on 21st April 2013 in a fantastic time of 5 hours and 16 minutes. Many congratulations go to her and all the supporters who made this possible. Read what Kerry had to say about the event and what your support means to her –
“I did it and wow what an amazing experience!! It got tough at 15 miles but recovered sufficiently to get round in a respectable 5 hours and 16 minutes. The support from the crowd was great, so many strangers calling your name and willing you on. When does next years ballot open?”
Kerry took on this event in memory of her Father, Ken Edwards, who died of kidney cancer in November 2009, less than 48 hours after diagnosis. She ran her first Half Marathon in His memory in March 2010 and now decided to take on a bigger challenge. Kerry needs support not only for the event itself but also through long hours of training and preparations for the race. She has set up her Just Giving page to raise money for Kidney Cancer UK and share her inspirational journey through her marathon experience.
