Since Kidney Cancer UK instigated it in 2016, Kidney Cancer UK Kidney Cancer Awareness Week 2022 has taken place each year in the first full week of February. In 2018 we saw our first building lit green to help raise awareness and every year since the amount of venues continues to grow (see map below). For Kidney Cancer Awareness Week (#KCAW2022) you can help us grow the location even further by getting by contacting a local landmarks near you to light-up green between the 7th – 11th February, or just Green Friday, 11th February. You’ll be helping to shine a spotlight on kidney cancer, a disease we all know needs more awareness. Let us know when you have contacted somewhere and they give the ‘green light’, so we can add it to our ever growing map below.
“The incidence of kidney cancer continues to increase and affects over 13000 people in the UK every year. Although Kidney cancer can be and frequently is a lethal disease, most patients diagnosed with it have said they didn’t even know that cancer could affect the kidneys, which highlights why Kidney Cancer Awareness week and the work of Kidney Cancer UK is so important.”
Miss Maxine Tran, Associate Professor in Renal Cancer and Honorary Consultant Urological Surgeon, Royal Free Hospital and Trustee of Kidney Cancer UK.
