Emma Riddell Braves the Shave instead of the Jurassic Coast

by | Aug 24, 2020 | Events News

Emma Riddell, 8 days after her operation signed up to the Jurassic Coast Challenge, which was due to take place in May 2020, then postponed to September 2020 and now unfortunately cancelled. Emma’s determination and dedication wasn’t thwarted, with over £1,900 already raised for the challenge, she chose to ‘Brave the Shave’ instead.

With a positive attitude and a smile on your face you can go a long way and Emma has certainly done that! Emma shared her journey earlier in the year when she first signed up to our ‘Jurassic Coast Challenge’ and has been courageous throughout, read about her journey so far, here.
Following her shave, Emma said ‘Post shave I have been compared to Sinead but now that I’ve dyed it blonde I would say more Slim Shady. I am so grateful to all those who have supported me and continue to do so. I am not only trying to raise money for the charity that has always been there for me but I am trying to raise awareness about this cancer. I wanted to do something positive with the diagnosis I got, when I found out the walk had been postponed for 2020 I decided to Brave the Shave, I was lucky enough to not need any further treatment for my cancer and therefore didn’t lose my hair. It’s early days and it’s a bit odd getting used to a grade one…the wind seems to whistle around my head …I have my hats ready for the winter’
We would like to thank Emma for the incredible fundraising and awareness she undertaken over the last eight months and congratulate heron raising over £2,600!! You can follow Emma’s progress as her supporters add to her Justgiving page by CLICKING HERE
