Effective home exercise workout videos
During this unsettling time, looking after your physical and mental health is perhaps more important than ever, which is why we have created a set of online video resources to help people living with kidney cancer maintain wellness and fitness whilst at home.
We have partnered with Sara Honey-DeLong at Honey Beat Dance & Fitness and Ipsen UK & Ireland to create four short workouts that you can try at home. These can be done in your own time without equipment and range in difficulty level, from beginner and ‘low-impact’ routines all the way to advanced.
Please remember to do all the exercises at your own pace, and if you need to take a break or have a glass of water feel free to do so.
Each workout has been separated into two videos. The first video is a demonstration of the exercises followed by the workout routine and the second video is the workout routine only. We suggest watching the exercise demonstration first to ensure you are comfortable with all the exercises before doing the routine.
If you’re interested in finding out more about the evidence behind the benefits of exercise for people living with cancer – such as how the body responds to medicines or how exercise may help keep you out of hospital – please follow this link to watch our three-part series with Philipp Zimmer, Researcher and Professor of Performance Health at TU Dortmund University.
We will be having an online Q&A session with Dr Zimmer soon so, if you have a question about exercise you would like answered please email it to mp@kcuk.org.uk using the subject line ‘Dr. Zimmer Q&A’.
