Cambridge Patients Day Reports, 14th June 2012

by | Jun 14, 2012 | Events News

Cambridge Kidney Cancer Patient Day at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, Cambridge
What a brilliant day this was! Over 60 patients, families, nurses and doctors came along to hear about the very latest advances in the development of new treatments for kidney cancer. With information hot off the press from the American Society of Clinical Oncology meeting the week before, the meeting was very positive for the future of kidney cancer as a chronic disease. One drug, in particular, holds great promise as a potential successful treatment for late stage kidney cancer (anti-PD-1 and anti-PD-L1).
We would like to thank all our speakers for giving up their valuable time to be with us, including Professor Tim Eisen, Mr Stephen Connolly and Karen Burnet from Addenbrooke’s hospital, Dr Rosalie Fisher from The Royal Marsden and Jemma Hendley from Peterborough.
Also, a big thank you to the patients and their families and carers for coming along to this meeting and contributing to the interesting discussions through out the day – I hope you found the day enjoyable as well as informative, and if you have any burning questions left from patient day, please do not hesitate to contact us.
