This weekend sees our annual Walk for a Cure take place and we have set the challenge to walk 21 miles locally to raise awareness and funds to help support those affected by kidney cancer across the UK. We are overwhelmed with this year’s up-take and would like to thank all those who are tying up their boot laces and getting ready to walk! Please, take a look at their fundraising pages and read the stories of what is inspiring them to be part of Walk for a Cure, maybe you’ll be inspired to join in, too. If you’re not walking why not support others and make a donation instead?

A huge drum roll for our fabulous walkers….

This year we have individuals and teams of walkers; patients as well as friends and family but remember there is still time for you to pull on your boots and get out this weekend to complete the 21 mile local challenge. All you need to do is set up your own fundraising page or download a sponsorship form, and start walking to raise awareness.
21 miles is just under 34 KM, and an average of 45,000 steps and the average walking speed is 3 miles per hour so, it would take around 7 hours to complete the challenge. BUT! You can be spread out across the weekend or if you wish, or accumulate the mileage as a family! And you know what they say… ‘A family that walks together is fitter, happier and, generally… 21 miles further from home‘,  so remember to turn back after 10.5 miles!
If these you feel inspire by these walkers but this weekend is too short notice, you can still take part over the next few weeks and help raise funds for research and to support kidney cancer patients, carers and their families across the UK.
So, get your boots on and let’s all Walk for a Cure
